    Cvent is an all-encompassing tool, which makes it great. You can use it from start to finish - from the registration of the meeting, to planning, to budgeting, to registration, and to final close out. It's nice to have everything in one place.

    Positive

    I can do the majority of my job in one place. My favorite tool and most useful is probably Venue sourcing. Although it could be improved (as anything can), it saves me a lot of time in calling/emailing individual hotels and collecting responses.

    Negative

    It can sometimes be glitchy or inconsistent. I have noticed that Cvent has been working on this lately, and they are trying to get a more consistent look and feel throughout. Sometimes the support can be frustrating as there can be misunderstandings or delayed response times.

    Cvent is one of the best registration portals we've used to date for free registrations. We really love the website and Attendee Hub set up, the classic design/easy options, and analytics reporting they offer.

    Positive

    Cvent is easy to design and easy to navigate for attendees. While it's not always the "perfect fit" for events (i.e. not great for elderly, non-techy demographic), it's very user-friendly overall with great ease of access. The tech support we've received has been phenomenal.

    Negative

    It definitely takes more work on the learning side of things, if you don't have a lot of graphics or web design background. It's customizable....to a limit. There are some things you really have to work to customize, and the web portal graphic sizing / design is limited.

    Largely a good experience learning the basics and have really enjoyed the amount of education and industry resources available that go well beyond just their products. For the most part I've found a way to do anything I've wanted to do using Cvent which easily integrates with most other products and has a solution for most normal event management situations and is always trying to solve the next problem before it happens.

    I like that everything you need is available in the same place and you can save and duplicate things, set up templates and share the same work with the entire team. I like how much training and help is offered. I like that the set up for most Cvent products is click and drop so the basics are easy to use and you can get started quickly with the products.

    Negative

    A lot of things seem perpetually under construction and while its great that things get updated regularly it's hard to have to keep looking for new things or learning new procedures.

    It is a very robust system but still has lots of improvement needed. I think it is a very expensive system.

    You have everything in one place.
    Their customer support is amazing.
    The ability for all your data to talk to each other.

    Negative

    -There is a very large learning curve to get familiar with the product

    -Some things are clunky, for example, if Attendee Hub, the speakers upload their information, but I have to manually download it and upload it to the Attendee Hub for speakers to view.

    Cvent, while powerful, comes with a significant cost investment, making it most cost-effective for our larger-scale events. The platform's training resources are somewhat restrictive. However, Cvent does provide learning opportunities are through the annual Cvent CONNECT conference or in the Community webinars.

    Cvent Support really goes above and beyond and the training materials and knowledge base are exceptional. There is also a community of users, who are supportive and helpful. Cvent takes events to the next level, expertly addressing every aspect of event planning, from dynamic websites and invitations to registration and virtual merchant services, to travel and venue booking, name badge printing, and robust reporting tools. Nothing in the event cycle is overlooked. They have created the Attendee Hub to make hybrid and virtual events more engaging and interactive. The event app is a great resource for event attendees. Cvent will even send a team of folks to set up and run your registration and check-in process for in-person events.

    Cvent is a robust platform for event management. For massive, complex, large-scale events, there’s nothing quite like it. From recently upgraded function and design on its Flex platform to its seemingly endless features and customization, there’s so much that can be done to streamline, automate, and manage events. Once you create templates for events, registration, email, etc., you can use them over and over again. Cvent Support is available 24/7, and it is the best support I have ever encountered from a tech company.

    There’s a ton of training and so many features that users like me who plan one or two events with under 500 people annually often feel overwhelmed. Cvent Support excels at hand holding and helping sort out issues, but it takes hours out of each week having to stay online with support. I wish the platform were more intuitive and straightforward. The costs add up. Users get charged for all sorts of things. Due to the cost, this is not an ideal platform for one-off events or smaller events.

    Good Software but Expensive

    Summary

    This product is expensive for what you get and it does not integrate well with the other products we use. This is not a product I would recommend.

    We have used this product for several years. The product works as expected for event management and I don't have any complaints with the product itself.

    Negative

    This product does not integrate very well. We have to use a different credit card provider as it only integrates with a few credit card processors. Additionally, the process is manual to get the invoicing into our accounting software.
