They sign you up for a lifetime subscription and take the first month fee without your knowledge.

Poor on all the fronts. Nothing good to say. Polite customer service that reiterates the fraudulent practice.

Scam tactics to get subscriptions, which it then won't refund. It is not enough that it charged for the pdf it made, it automatically subscribed me.

Refusal to refund. Fraudulent practices. Seems legitimate but ultimately a way of scamming people through prescription.

Refund my money! I did not even use your service that allows you to charge me this much! I converted - couple of pdf file to test! That’s it. It did not work for me so I stopped! Now you don’t even refund me my money!

A scam, exorbitant charge for monthly. It’s auto recharge. Asking for a refund but they offered me a 2 year free use of the service, that’s because they know they charge above and beyond for a month!

Tried it out for a $.99 "one-time" use which resulted in enrolling me into a monthly subscription for $49.99. I realized this two months later and wrote to them asking for refund which they refused.

Total rip off. Avoid at all costs. I have reviewed them on Trustpilot and other review sites so that no-one makes the same mistake I did. BEWARE!!

There is nothing good to say about this scam business. They take your money and rip you off. They are Cyprus-based fraud co.

It isn’t purchasing a one time purchase ($1.99) like it seems, it’s a subscription and after the first week you are charged $50 usd, this company is the worst, hidden terms and conditions and they are proud of that fact, pathetic

The purchasing process has been designed to extort money from inattentive customers. This should be prohibited.

I needed 1 conversion, I paid 3.99 for the service. Two months later, it turned out that when I bought a one-time service, I activated a subscription for PLN 214 per month.

I engaged with them for the purpose of securing a pdf. This was offered, and paid for at a cost of 99c. However, i then found that i had been charged $49. The Company's admin stated that the contract had been emailed, but this was a lie!! It has a contract set up without consent which has to be cancelled within 6 days otherwise the $49 charge is activated. Customer service is entirely unhelpful, their staff are clearly incentivised to reject refund requests on this issue

The Company has no redeeming features. It offers a useful product but its activities have zero customer focus

This company exists to gather money from very misleading payment terms. it offers a cheap solution but entraps users into a long term contract.

Service was great for the one page I converted but it wasn't worth $52. I would never trust this company again.

I didn't mind paying for the trial period of $1.99 but they don't operate like other sites. They CONVENIENTLY add "fine print" hoping no one reads it. After being charged a non-refundable $49.99, I tried to cancel so they charged AGAIN for $.99 For every person scammed, they make $52 then send an email telling you "sorry"! They make a lot of money off of this scam.

Terrible, always use an alternative because there are plenty that will not scam you out of your money.

How PDF Guru Scammed Me
While browsing PDF Guru’s website, I came across an offer that stated their service could be used for a one-time payment of $0.99. I decided to try it out. However, a week later—without any prior notice, email, or my authorization—they charged $49.99 to the same card I used for the $0.99 payment.

I immediately contacted their support team, and they claimed to have processed a $49.99 refund, instructing me to wait 14 business days (23 calendar days) for the amount to reflect in my account. I found this unreasonable, considering they withdrew the money in an instant, but refunding it supposedly takes weeks.

After the 14 business days passed, the refund still hadn’t appeared. Despite their repeated claims that the money had already been sent, my bank confirmed that no such transaction was received.

PDF Guru is a scam. They will show your account as closed when you cancel online with them before the trial. But they will still run your credit card. Don’t use them! They’re also outside of the US, so you will not be able to get refunded your account.

It was supposed to be a free trial. But they are dishonest in their process. And because they’re out of the US they can’t be reprimanded.

Their cancellation process is a sham. They still will run your card after you cancel your account online.

Do not click on their site. Do not trust their trial. Avoid PDF Guru at all costs.

I signed up for what was advertised as a simple trial for under €1. What they don’t tell you clearly is that unless you cancel—buried deep in their terms—you’ll be charged €49.99 monthly. That’s exactly what happened to me. I never agreed to a subscription, and despite sending multiple complaints, they ignored every single one. No refund, no resolution—just silence.
This company operates like a subscription trap, preying on unsuspecting users. Their customer service is nonexistent, and they seem perfectly content profiting off deception. I consider this behavior fraudulent and unethical.

Terrible - the subscription model is confusing and the charge per month? For the service? Outrageous.

I was scammed by this company as so many others. I had a one time need to translate a PDF form. Tried PDF Guru, and before showing me the result of the translation, I was asked to pay 1 Euro for a 7-day trial. Big letters about what I was opting in for, and only after the scam occurred to me did I go back and discovered how they have hidden the monthly subscription of 50 Euros per months in the footer text with nearly invisible font (grey and small, inside the typical terms and conditions that they know nobody reads!). Of course, nothing like a confirmation by email or anything else that would induce me to cancel within the 7 day window...

I contacted customer service within minutes of my card getting charged, and of course there's no refund. So clearly, this business is based in tricking people like me to click and pay for a one time need, and secretly lure them into a crazy subscription that no sane private person would accept.

I used the service for a form translation, and I was asked to pay 1 Euro for a 7 day trial. Which I figured was ok, so I was dumb enough to do it. The result was piss poor, the "translated" version of my PDF was identical to the original form! No translation.

THIS IS A SCAM! They make you sign up for a 7 day trial, and in invisible font in the footer, it is hidden that they will charge you 50 Euros per month per the end of the trial. Once you sing up, there is no confirmation per email or other receipt that makes it clear they are scamming you. Stay away from this company! There are other options that don't screw you over.

WHAT BOTHERS ME THE MOST >> This is a deliberate business practice. Sending a reminder email costs nothing. They choose not to because surprise charges are profitable. I'm not disputing that I signed up for a trial. I'm disputing the lack of basic customer courtesy that every legitimate subscription service provides. Netflix reminds you. Adobe reminds you. Even my local gym sends a text.

If you do sign up, set a calendar reminder yourself—because they won't, and you'll be out $49

I signed up for DPF Guru's free trial. What I didn't expect: being charged $49 without any notification that my trial was ending or that a charge was coming. No email warning. No "your trial ends in 3 days" reminder. Just a surprise charge.

When I contacted customer service within 24 hours, they refused a refund, citing their "non-refundable" policy.

The product did what I wanted it to do however I was very disappointed with the predatory practice of auto subscription.

The Product itself was effective for my purposes as it did exactly what I wanted it to do and was relatively easy to use.

PDF Guru have chosen to adopt the predatory marketing practice of automatic subscription for using their services, which I find most unsatisfactory, and not one aimed at benefitting the consumer. Subscribing should never be automatic. I suggest they offer another option such as a higher single-use charge without automatic subscription.
