Procare Pros & Cons

Our staff is very happy with Procare and the ability to communicate with their families. They use Procare for weekly newsletters, parent reminders, and photo posting and they LOVE how easy it is to use! Overall we have been very happy with Procare and intend to continue using it!
PositiveProcare is user-friendly, appeals to both staff members and parents alike. Procare gives us one place to post important information for parents and staff to view in a timely fashion. We love having the ability to communicate quickly with our parents. Sharing photos of our students with their families is another great perk! Parents love knowing what their kiddos are up to and seeing their children happily playing and learning at school in "real time" is a great tool to have. We love being able to keep notes on Procare re: attendance, incident/injury reports, and other important communications with parents.
NegativeSometimes Procare goes down and we are unable to access the app. On occasion, the app and online version will work for us, but very slowly. This is especially difficult when parents are trying to sign their children in for the day during the busy morning rush. That said, the Procare Help Desk is always ready to assist with any issues we run into.

I have even called them for some really dumb "user" issues and they still make me feel like a valued customer!
NegativeThe only "con" I might possible have is that some times the wait time for customer support seems a bit long. However, that is understandable if they are providing their other customers the same personable and efficient service they provide me.

NegativeWish there was better app development. I'm on the go for the majority of the day and need to see some stuff on the work phone. Otherwise I'm lugging my laptop out and praying for hotspot connections.

Procare Offers Great Solutions for Running a Preschool

PositiveI like the ease of use when it comes to all of the features offered by Procare. The platform is very user friendly. The payment integration with Tuition Express is a wonderful feature and cuts down on the time spent billing and collecting payments.
NegativeThe only area that can be difficult is when entering immunizations, if you enter a date wrong for the first immunization, and then continue entering dates before realizing your original error, you have to go back and change all of the immunizations entered rather than being able to add an additional immunization to the top.

PositiveProcare has been a God Send for us. We've used it since 2006 after using MS DOS and it has worked perfectly for us. It is quite flexible, allowing us to track any and all data needed to meet our funding requirements and manage day to day operations.
NegativeThe only thing I can't seem to do is copy over one child at a time from site to site. I can copy over full accounts, but that creates a duplicate account in the receiving site.

PositiveI enjoy the ease and support Procare provides. For the first time we were able to have all of our systems under one umbrella, making our day-to-day management easier. Having everything in Procare has made that easier. We enjoy the parent connection and having an easy way to communicate. The support team is outstanding! Whenever we have an issue, they have a resource to help guide us.
NegativeI wish that some of the upcoming features were available sooner. There are a few areas that I think could be improved and with these updates they will, just waiting for those to happen. Also, the reports section is lacking a little. I would like to be able to create a report and have it in a convenient to print format, which it is not.

Happy customer for over 20 years

After selling the business during Covid, the new owners were using a different product. When I agreed to return and run the business for them, we switched back to Procare from another daycare management software. I feel that when it comes to managing the data and creating the necessary reports no other program is as good.
PositiveThe customer support is amazing. Whenever I have a question or am unable to make a report, someone from the Procare team is right there to assist me. The reports are outstanding and make it so easy to manage the day-to-day operations. From sign in sheets to attendance logs. emergency information, all of it can be sorted and reported with ease.
NegativeI do feel as though the parent interface could be made stronger. The parent access to billing and customer statements could be easier as well. Many parents wish they had the capabilities of setting their payment dates.

Procare desktop combined with the engagement app for teachers/parents is the only one that has been able to help us streamline our registration, payment and communication processes all in one place. They have been responsive in answering questions and creating solutions to new hurdles. Our office staff is happy with the flexible data processing, our teachers were able to utilize the app easily from day one and our parents are relieved to finally have the ease of access to communication, daily updates and billing that they expect in this day and age. Procare came highly recommended and for good reason.

PositiveProcare encompasses most all of the facets of childcare into one program. From record keeping, attendance, staff schedules, immunizations... it is all there.
NegativeThe system can feel a little clunky, as in when you're entering info. It is not easy to change dates, numbers and there are always error messages. It has not been upgraded since I started using it eight years ago, and this can take me a very long time when entering children's info.

PositiveCustomer service is wonderful! Everyone I have talked to have been very knowledgeable, patient and quick. The integration from our old system was seamless. My suggestions for improving are taken seriously and was even submitted for review which, I think, says a lot about a company and their willingness to serve customers.

PositiveThe app is easy to send messages and posts in real time to parents. As an administrator, I can scroll through the classroom activities and post as well as monitor messages.
NegativeSometimes there is a need for an update and we will have issues with use. Parents will be frustrated when they can't sign in their child but this is really our only issue.
