When using Slack, I certainly recommend having some work environment policies and also support to ensure that it is used in the most efficient way. Slack is super easy to set up for a team. We use it with a team of 25 and it's super convenient for us to be able to collaborate all in one area and in channels.

There is a small learning curve when you start using it but you can adapt to it pretty easily if you use it consistently.
